What do you mean by an Accident Case and Personal Injury Case?

“Personal injury” is a broad term that means any kind of accident or occurrence that leads to bodily injury. An Accident Case includes car and truck accidents.

How much is my personal injury case worth?

Our goal to is get you the most money possible. Our Maryland Personal Injury Attorneys work hard to increase the value of your case as much as possible.

The specific “value” of your personal injury case depends on many factors, such as the extent of your injuries, the amount of your medical bills, and your condition after finishing medical treatment. The calculation also involves the ability of the other party to pay a judgment and whether you played any role in causing the accident.

How much do you charge for a personal injury case?

Often you pay nothing up front. If we win the case, then we receive a contingency, or percentage, based on the final amount of money we win. This way you know that we want to win you as much money as possible in your personal injury case.

Can I talk to you about my case for free?

Yes. If you want to talk to one of our lawyers about a case, just call our office at 301-933-2595. Our staff will be happy to discuss your case for free.

Will I have to go to court?

Not usually. In most cases, personal injury cases are resolved with a settlement offer. However, if the personal injury settlement offer is not satisfactory, our Maryland Personal Injury Attorneys will take your case to court and fight to win the largest judgment possible.

How long will my case take to settle or go to court?

In most cases we need to wait until you have finished all of your medical treatment and we have collected all of your medical bills and expenses. Once we have all the costs and expenses that have been caused by the accident, our Maryland Personal Injury Attorneys can move forward to settle the case with the other party or file a lawsuit in court. The timing of each case is different and depends on many factors.

How do I know whether to accept a settlement offer or go to trial?

Each personal injury settlement offer is different. You will be assisted by our Marland Personal Injury Attorneys in reviewing your personal injury settlement offer and help determine what would be best. Remember, the decision is in your hands, but we are here to help you with our years of experience in Maryland personal injury cases.

Who pays my medical bills and lost wages?

If you have auto insurance and you are in an auto accident, your insurance company will pay your medical bills and a portion of your wages up to a certain point if you have Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage. The at-fault driver’s insurance company is also responsible for your pain and suffering damages for your personal injuries, which is usually the largest part of the plaintiff’s claim. If you have health insurance, it may serve as a backup insurer by paying your medical bills after you have run out of PIP coverage.

Can you recommend a doctor to me to treat me for my injuries?

You can seek treatment from your existing health care providers (or request a referral from them). If you prefer, our Maryland Personal Injury Attorneys can provide you with a list of quality health care providers who generally do not require payment until after the resolution of your case. In any case, you deserve the best medical treatment possible.
